my friend (a girl) asked if she could ask me questions, and I said yes. Then she asked me if I liked her as more than just a friend. I told her no, but she didn't take that as the answer she wanted and kept asking until I just told her to leave it alone and go find someone who wants to be with her. She left, but then I got a message from her a few minutes later that she was crying, and how I didn't have to say I didn't like her if I didn't mean it. I don't know what to do now. Should I go apologize to her for lying? Or should I let it go?

I mean I'm not in your shoes but I'd apologize to her.

The only reason why I lied was because she wouldn't stop asking and it was just getting annoying. So I figured if I just said whatever she wanted to hear, she would leave me alone. But then she kept crying and asking me to change my mind. I'm not even sure what she wants from me anymore. Do you think I should apologize?
