So I was walking in a park, when suddenly this girl stopped in front of me. She said, "Excuse me sir, but I'm lost. Can you tell me where the bathroom is?" I pointed up ahead and said, "I think its that way." Then she asked me for directions to the subway station. I didn't know the name of it but I said, "The one that's underground? It's over there." She then asked me the time, so I checked my phone and replied, "Its about 3:15 p.m." Then finally she asked if I knew where the closest library was. I shook my head and said, "No ma'am, sorry." Then she walked away.
I started walking again and realized something, I didn't say anything that was incorrect. Every single answer I gave was true, but they didn't help her at all. So I decided to follow her to see what she would do next.
As I approached the library I saw her walking towards another man. This man was also confused because the girl was asking him how to get to the bathroom or the subway or whatever else she needed. I came up behind them and tapped him on the shoulder. I said, "Sir, I believe this is your problem. Excuse me miss, I believe this is your problem." She just stared at me and said, "How can you know that?" And I said, "Well, you are asking everyone in this park for directions."
Then she looked around and noticed everybody looking at her. She turned red with embarrassment and ran off into the woods. The guy thanked me and told me he would make sure to ask her out later after she calmed down.
The moral of the story: Don't let other people confuse you. If you have a problem, ask someone else who doesn't know the situation.
