I mean, I'm not a new user. I've been on this site since 2013. But even when I was new back in 2013 (well, actually I had an account from 2008), it's not fun being hated on by people. I can understand it if you are only making fun of them for something like, maybe they have a stupid name, or their clothes look weird, or what not. But you don't have to go around and insult them just because they're new. That is no way to treat someone. Just be nice to them. Even if you don't like them, you still should be nice to them. I mean, have some respect for people. If you don't want to make friends with them, fine, but at least don't insult them.
