Science is the pursuit of knowledge and understanding through the use of the scientific method.
You're not doing anything scientific by believing in something or not.

that's not how it works. The scientific method is based on a theory.
theory - A theory is a possible explanation for a set of observations or events; theories can be tested but can never be proven absolutely true.
And even if they were to prove that God doesn't exist, it wouldn't mean that God didn't exist because it was just a theory.
