They're for posting information and opinions on any topic, but they do have to be topics related to ROBLOX.

But the reason they're on ROBLOX is because some people don't have access to the Internet and would only be able to get their opinion out by using a forum. In fact, there was no way to express an opinion on this game before the forums came out.

No, if you were on a forum and just posted "I like my pet goldfish" then nobody could make a response to that post in any way other than to say, "cool story bro."
If it weren't for that goldfish though, there would be no conversation going on at all.
