I mean I know people that post on OT but don't really post much and are pretty active on RT.
I'm not talking about people who are the "big fish" in here because obviously, they aren't RTers and are OTers. But people that are actually on both forums

By posting on both forums.
And knowing when to post on which one.

That's a nice answer but I don't see it as that helpful.
I know how to post on both forums, I just don't understand what makes people more of an OTer or a RTer

I can't explain that. I think there is some sort of "OT factor" that makes a person more of an OTer than an RTer, but it's impossible to explain.

What do you mean by "OT factor"?
Is it something I could get?

I don't think there is any way to get the OT factor. It's just something you're born with.

I was born with the RT factor.
So how did you end up here if you were born with the OT factor?

I spent several years on OT before moving onto other subforums.

Oh.
Well how do people find themselves in one or the other if they're not really sure where to post.

It depends on their personality. If a person is more active and posting on forums, then they'll probably hang around OT most often because it has more activity than other subforums. If a person is more passive and only posts occasionally, then they'll hang around the subforum with the least activity.

But what makes people want to post on OT more than say, VGF or ATR.
Why would someone go there first when they could easily post on the other forum?

That's hard to explain. Maybe it's because there are less trolls on OT compared to other forums?

So you think it's just that "OT factor" and it's just something we're born with?

It's some sort of personality trait that makes a person more likely to be an OTer than an RTer.
