Think about it. In the Middle Ages, people were still learning how to read and write, so no one could tell anyone anything. We have information overload nowadays, so we can't process any new information anyway.
The Middle Ages had much less crime, since there was no such thing as a police force.
We're also heading into another Dark Age, with the economy, global warming, and other issues taking over.

In modern day we have access to many more forms of energy then they did back then.
No electricity.
No cars.
No guns.
The list goes on.

You're confusing "time period" with "dark age".
A dark age is a time when civilization is on a downward spiral. A time period just describes a point in history.
I'm talking about the dark age that is coming. No one knows exactly when it will happen.
