My dad sings well but when he does it his voice sounds really weird and high
like he sounds like an old lady or a frog

Hm. I'm the same way with my voice. It's hard for me to sing in front of people without my voice going high. It can be fixed by taking deep breaths before singing, then exhaling slowly.
