or
"Im a good person"
It's just a way of saying "I don't do bad things", but they'll still be the same person no matter what.

I know what you mean. But the reason why we have to say this is because if someone has done something wrong, they would not want to be labelled as a "bad person". That's why we must say "I am a good person" and stuff.

Yeah but sometimes they add the word "guy" or "girl" to the end.

If they use those words, it means they are trying to say that they are a good guy/girl so that others think the same. They may also say this because they want other people to look up to them. (not necessary)
