There were a group of people in the town of Banland. The people of Banland were all evil, so they all liked to do mean things. They liked to hurt others, and steal things from other people. The people of Banland did not like it when anyone was kind, or nice. It made them angry. So they decided to do something about it.
One day the people of Banland saw a little boy who was very kind. They knew he could not be allowed to live in their town, because he was too nice and kind. The people of Banland decided that they must get rid of this nice and kind little boy, before he made them feel bad.
The people of Banland put on their best disguises, and snuck up behind the little boy. He had no idea what was coming. The people of Banland pushed the little boy into the pit of quicksand, where he would soon die. But then one person spoke up and said: "Wait! We can't kill him yet. We have to make him suffer first!"
So the people of Banland tied up the little boy, and beat him with sticks. Then they left the little boy in the pit of quicksand to die.
That is how Banland came to be such an evil town. And that is how Banland got its name.
