We are debating about the existence of God and he's just repeating the same arguments over and over again. He even said "I can't believe you're a Catholic, that's the worst religion there is" and I'm like "But...You're Lutheran." He goes on to say "Well, Luther was a heretic!" So basically, he's just being stubborn. But I don't want him to think that Catholics are stupid, so I try to argue with him.
But it seems like he thinks I'm not trying hard enough...
What do I do?

I did that. Now he's going on about how I'm using the fact that Luther was a heretic against him when he was just being sarcastic. And then he tries to make me feel bad by saying something along the lines of "It's sad you're defending him so much, you don't even know him!"
What do I do now?
