I'm asking because I thought the average was like 3, but someone told me that they're getting so big that the average is now 4.5

The reason why I think there's more is because they have fewer families these days, meaning that each family will have more children than usual.

Also, the average American family is now under the poverty line. So, those families will likely need to have more kids for financial reasons.

Now, I know you're thinking "Why would poor families have more kids?" Well, I didn't really say that they're having more kids, but that they'll have more kids due to financial reasons.

I also know that a lot of poor families are Latino, which means they probably won't have enough money to take care of their kids. But, if they have more kids, they can take advantage of welfare and make a living out of it, since most people on welfare don't work.

My parents had 3 kids.
They couldn't afford anymore.
I'm the oldest in my family.
