Because MLP is a show for young girls. It's not a bad show but the fact that it is targeted towards girls makes it hard for guys to like.

I honestly don't know what happened after season two. I didn't follow the show past season two, I just heard rumors of it getting worse and worse.

it got way worse, the writers became desperate and started making the show more and more childish, now its like one of those shows where you have to be 5 to get the joke. in fact i think my little pony has gone down hill faster then any other show i've ever seen
