The Creeping Fear
A few years ago, a group of people were camping in an unknown place. They decided to explore the surrounding area for several hours. On their return journey they became lost and could not find their way back.
They soon realized that they had stumbled upon an ancient burial ground. A large mound covered by overgrowth was located behind some bushes about 200 feet away from them. They walked up to the mound and looked around. The mound was covered with dead leaves and branches. Some of the branches appeared to have been recently broken off. The leaves were also strewn across the mound in a seemingly random pattern.
When they inspected it more closely they noticed that the mound had a small opening on one side. Inside was a dark, damp cavern. It smelled of mildew and mold.
Suddenly the entire mound began to shake. The group tried to run but it was too late. They felt themselves being pulled into the mound by an unseen force.
Once they were all inside they found themselves in a dimly lit cavern. The cave walls were lined with skeletons and skulls. They quickly noticed that there were only 5 bodies in total and 4 of them were missing their heads. The remaining body was headless as well but had its hands tied behind its back. They looked at each other in fear. As they stood there they heard a low rumbling sound. It seemed to be coming from below them. They tried to run but again the force kept them trapped.
The ground then began to shake violently and a giant snake head popped out from under the floor. Its mouth was wide open with razor-sharp teeth and it hissed loudly at them. They froze in terror. A few moments later a large body appeared. Its skin was dark black with yellow spots all over. It had huge bulging eyes and a large muscular tail with a poisonous stinger on the end.
One of the campers managed to grab hold of one of the beams supporting the ceiling before he passed out. The others lay on the ground unconscious. The snake continued to hiss loudly while its humanlike partner slithered up the walls.
As soon as they were alone the snake struck at the man holding onto the beam. His grip failed him and he fell to the ground, landing on top of one of the other campers. The snake then coiled itself around his neck and began to squeeze, slowly suffocating him.
As the camper lay there dying he felt something cold brush against his cheek. He looked down and saw that a giant spider had crawled up onto his face and was biting into his neck. The spider then crawled up his throat and into his mouth and proceeded to bite him on the tongue.
The man's eyes rolled back into his head and he was dead. As the others regained consciousness they found themselves all tied up, gagged and hanging by their wrists from the cave walls. They could see the snake climbing up the wall towards them.
A few seconds later they heard a loud hissing noise and the snake appeared right in front of them. Its jaws were wide open and it began to eat away at their flesh. After each bite they would feel a burning pain and the skin around the wound would start to blister. Their flesh was literally being cooked alive by its venom.
The last thing they heard before losing consciousness was a loud squishing sound as the snake bit into their body and the squishy sound of their flesh being sucked out of them.
The next morning two hikers found the 4 bodies still dangling from the cave walls. They called an ambulance but unfortunately it was too late. The victims had died during the night.
They reported the incident to the police and a forensic team was sent to investigate. All that remained of the victims was a pile of bones and scraps of clothing. There was also a pool of black liquid near one of the skeletons. When the police tested the liquid it turned out to be poison.
When they examined the inside of the mound they found more skeletons buried beneath it. It seems that this location was used for human sacrifices many years ago.
