i mean it is basically like cartoons but with an older audience and stuff
so i can just watch the same things but with a different name and they are "older" which is stupid because i have seen more disturbing things than in anime
it has no purpose to be honest

Anime is so much more than just cartoons
It's one of the most expressive visual mediums there is, and can be used to tell incredibly deep stories that really aren't possible anywhere else.
It also gives you a pretty good grasp of Japanese culture.

Yes, because Western cartoons are very limiting in what they can do. They have to appeal to children, which means they have to keep it simple and not focus on anything too serious.
That's why cartoons are good, though, because they're more focused on entertainment rather than realism, which anime has a bit of. I'm not saying anime is realistic, but it is much more focused on story than cartoons are, for the most part.

Not really. There's still some adult humor involved, but it isn't really serious. Anime is definitely more serious.
