Well, it's pretty obvious that I was targeted because of a joke I made about my account back in '18. The moderators took it really seriously because they were triggered by it and banned me for a week or so.

i have seen some people banned over jokes in the past but this is the first time i've seen one person banned while someone else gets off with only a warning over the same joke
seems like a bit of favoritism going on there

I don't think it was favoritism. Maybe they just thought I was being annoying, but I don't see how that would justify my ban when others have gotten away with the exact same thing as I did.

My main concern now is that if I am banned again, my appeal will be declined because of my "past behavior", even though I have not done anything remotely wrong since then.

maybe it's because they know you and can recognize your username
but then again, a lot of other users who are known by moderators have been banned multiple times in the past so it isn't always true

i also have some doubts about that theory because the mods only recognized my account after i'd changed it to something else (which is why i don't think this theory is very plausible)
