"i don't really get what the big deal about otters is"
Otters are awesome creatures. They're fun and adorable to watch on TV, but they're also helpful animals that can help humans get rid of invasive species in their waters and eat away at things like toxic algae. They can even be trained to find lost objects for scuba divers (that's a thing). And the only thing they have against them are the sea otter hunters who kill them for their fur. And in some places, like California, it's actually illegal to kill one unless you own property where there's an otter population and you've been given permission from the government.
And all of this is just the beginning of why otters are so awesome. I could talk about them for hours. If anyone wants me to go into detail, I'm willing. Otherwise I'll just stop now.
