I know the real answer to this question: 1. The word Alt means alternative. 2. People make accounts that are named after their main account. They do this so they can make posts without it being seen as spam or something that makes them look bad.
I am one of those people that have a alt account named 'legoseedalt'. I made it when I was a little kid, and I used it for everything except roblox. I liked it because I could go on my parents computer, play Roblox, and not get in trouble.
