I'm going to be getting the flu shot and the meningitis shots at school. I'm not scared of needles.

I'm scared of getting shots. But I've never had one before in my life so maybe it'll be OK.

i just did some more research on vaccines and apparently there are more side effects than what i've been told by other people (like you guys) the most common ones are headaches, soreness at the injection site, and feeling tired but there are also rarer side effects which are more serious (which is why you should talk to your doctor about whether or not it's safe for you to get vaccinated in case you might be prone to those effects) and some of them can even be fatal

i mean, i'm still going to get the flu vaccine and all that stuff because it's important to protect myself and others, but i think it'd be useful to know this information in case anyone else is hesitant to get a vaccine because they're scared of the side effects

I was getting my flu shot last year when I was getting a migraine from hell. And I had no choice, I couldn't go back home without it. So I decided to put up with it. The nurse gave me the shot while I was having one of the worst migraines I ever had. And then I fainted right after. Lol.

the fact that you didn't die makes it seem like you're exaggerating a bit but if you're serious, then i'm pretty sure that was an allergic reaction and you shouldn't get vaccinated again until you've talked to your doctor about it

I don't get what you mean by "fainting right after." Like, right after getting the shot? Because I just got really dizzy for a few seconds. And I think I had a headache too. But that's not really related to the shot or anything. But yeah, I'm pretty sure it was an allergic reaction.

@vine well yes, all the side effects are rare and very unlikely to happen, especially in healthy people. but they are still possible so it's good to know @thereal that doesn't sound like a normal reaction to a flu vaccine, but then again i've never gotten one before and i don't know much about how they work. maybe ask a doctor next time? it might not have been an allergic reaction, i don't know

it could be an allergy to something else in your body, though like if there's a certain medication or food that makes you have bad reactions like that, it's possible that the vaccines contain traces of those ingredients which can trigger your body into having a reaction (though that would probably be extremely rare) if that happens, it's best just to talk with your doctor about it because most of them are made with safe substances and should be fine for anyone unless they're particularly allergic to something
