The guy is in his bedroom, laying in bed. Suddenly he hears a knock on his door. He says "Come in."
There's his mother, smiling and saying "Hi, honey. How are you today?"
He says "I'm fine, mom. What brings you here?"
She says "Oh, well I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd stop by."
He says "Well that's nice, mom. You're always so busy these days."
She replies "Yeah, it sure is nice to see you too, son! Well, I really should get going. I've got another house to clean!"
And with that, she leaves.
The next day, the same thing happens. The knock on the door, the same words as yesterday, only this time she has different clothes on. He says "Well, good morning, mom. What can I do for you this fine day?"
She replies "Oh, I was just out for a walk and thought I would drop by for a few minutes!" She then asks "Honey, where did you get that big screen TV? It looks so real!" He replies "I think it came from Best Buy. Mom, what do you do for a living?"
She replies "Oh, I work at Best Buy. I'm their top saleswoman. Why don't you come down to the store sometime? They'll give you a 20% discount if you tell them I sent you."
On the third day he wakes up again and hears a knock on the door. He says "Come in."
She is standing there in her underwear. She says "Oh, hi honey. I heard you were sick and wanted to see how you were doing!"
He replies "Oh yes! Oh gosh, please sit down."
She sits down on his bed and says "Why, thank you for asking. I just had a terrible day. I got fired from my job."
"Oh no! What happened?" He asks.
She replies "Well, when I went into work, I couldn't find my clothes, so I had to go to the office dressed like this."
"Where was your car?" The guy asks.
"Right outside the window. It won't start."
"Well then, you could have called a cab!" He says.
"No, that wouldn't work," she replies. "The cabbie is having car problems too." With that she gives him a wink and leaves.
That night the guy calls the number he sees on his mother's phone bill. He asks "What are you doing here?"
She replies "Well, I was bored at home and thought it would be a good idea to come down and see you." He replies "Well, okay then."
She asks "How is your car? Are you still having trouble with it?"
He replies "Yeah, but it's not as bad now."
She replies "Oh good!"
He asks "Mom, why did you want to come down here today?"
She replies "I just wanted to see how you're doing."
He replies "Okay. Well, I'm feeling much better now. Do you need a ride back?"
She replies "No, it's okay. I'll take a cab."
With that she hangs up.
