Why can't people just say "girlfriend" or "boyfriend."
I mean like seriously. It's really annoying.

My dad always says he calls me his bae, which annoys the hell out of me because it sounds weird coming from him. But then again, my mom always says that she loves me which sounds odd when coming from her.

I don't use it much, but I find it kinda fun to say. It makes you feel different in a way.

I don't find it fun to say.
I've also heard people ask who their bae is, and I think that's dumb.

It just seems like a good way to tell a girlfriend how much you like her. It doesn't make me have a crush on anybody or anything though.

I know what it means, I'm just saying it's stupid to use when referring to a significant other

You're right. It does sound stupid when you hear it. But you can make it sound cool by making it up. Like "Bae, babe, or beau." Or even "bae, baby."

It only sounds gay if you're a girl calling a boy those. Or vice versa.

Yeah, that is annoying, but I still think it would be better to just say girlfriend/boyfriend instead of bae all the time. It could make girls look stupid.

I'm not going to use it as much anymore. So, if anyone asks who my bae is, I'll just say "Nobody." That should shut them up.

But it makes me feel weird. Like someone's asking what your favorite drink is.
