he is a bit of an idiot and I dislike him, but one day he said that his older brother had cancer.
I am sorry for what happened to his brother, but I can't help it that I hate him. I really don't want to feel bad about the fact that I can't stand this kid, but it's pretty hard when you hear stuff like that. I don't know how to react...

do you have any friends?
i mean i'm sure you have some friends if you're going to middle school
but do you have any close friends?
if not then maybe you should talk about it with them because sometimes other people can help us see things from different perspectives

I have two friends and they are alright, but they are not exactly my best friends. But yes, you are right; I will talk to my friends about it.

Well, he is a bit of an idiot... He doesn't deserve sympathy or anything. Like I said, I am sorry for his brother, but he shouldn't get special treatment just because of that...

Exactly. I am going to treat this kid like how he normally would be treated. I am not going to change my behavior towards him just because his brother got sick.

I don't have many people in my class that I like, actually. But it's only the second day of school and I can already feel myself growing to hate some people (including my teacher).

I'll get over it eventually, but I still dislike certain people. You get a different kind of person every year, so it's hard to grow attached to people.
