I've been learning about the history of the British empire in India (Not just India, but all of India)
and it turns out that the British army was using opium against the Indian tribes. Now I'm not sure if they were forced to use this or it was offered, but that's really messed up.
It turns out the opium addiction became a serious problem for the people and many of them were enslaved because of it. Not only that, but many people who didn't get addicted were killed because of the opium, due to the fact that the people who were enslaved were forced to work on their land.
Also, there were many people who tried to revolt against the British, but it never worked. They were always crushed by the superior forces of the British army.
Now I know some of you will say "If it wasn't for the British, we wouldn't be here."
Well, yes, we probably wouldn't be here without the British empire, but that doesn't mean we can't condemn what they did during their reign.
As an American citizen myself, I have a hard time condemning America for their faults, but when I think about what the British did, I don't understand why people are so proud of being British.
What do you guys think?

But hey, let's just forget that the British had opium addicted slaves and killed many Indians because of this.
