I usually just take it out if it gets uncomfortable. I've been stuck with them for long enough that I've gotten used to not having them.

It's just that I don't feel like I have control over it anymore, and I'm used to doing what I want with my hair. I don't feel like anyone else should have control over it. It's just my hair, so why do I let people do whatever they want with it?
