In 1885, a man named James Brady killed my great-great-grandmother's son. The boy was only about 15 years old.
He was a farmer and the local sheriff later testified that he was "as kind-hearted as any one could be."
The only reason he ever murdered the boy was because he wanted his land. He had already tried to get it through the court system and lost. He knew the boy was in the house and went there at night with his shotgun and shot him dead.
I have never been more disgusted by anything than this.
