i went on a family vacation with my mom and dad and brother
we did pretty much what we usually do, which is go to a couple tourist spots and take pictures of things
and then we'd find some cheap place to eat dinner at (no real restaurants this time)
but the most interesting part was the airplane ride there and back. i got a window seat on the way up so i could look out the window and see all the clouds and the view of the landscape below.
for the return flight though i had a middle seat so i had absolutely nothing to do except read stuff on my phone. i hated it so much that by the time we landed i wanted to throw up. the worst part was the fact that i couldn't see out the window because my legs were in the way, and i can't even begin to explain how much of a pain it was to have to get out of my seat just to use the bathroom. i hate that feeling of being crammed in tight and not having enough leg space.
if anyone wants to know more about what i saw or did feel free to ask
i'm too tired to think about what else to say right now

oh yeah i also went on a boat cruise that took us around the manhattan area, but we didn't get to go near any other islands like staten island or liberty island or whatever
but yeah the cruise was pretty cool, i liked seeing manhattan's skyline

well, the first thing you'll notice is the Statue of Liberty.
If you look closely, you will see the words "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free."
The reason this message is so important is because of who wrote it.
That person was Emma Lazarus, a Jewish poet. In other words, if Lady Liberty hadn't been written by an immigrant, she might have never come to America in the first place.

yeah i saw that
but i couldn't figure out what they were saying and i didn't feel like asking my parents about it so i just moved on
i didn't know that emma larus wrote it, but it's a cool fact nonetheless
