But what you CAN do is make him look like a moron and humiliate him.

You're not doing it wrong.
You just don't know how to win a fight.
There are many ways you can win a fight.
1) Make him surrender (Which you did)
2) Hit him so hard that he falls unconscious
3) Get him arrested
4) Beat him up so badly that he can't stand up
5) ...
6)
So many things you can do.
