1. Make sure your thumbnail is 1200x627
2. Make sure its in RGB format (not indexed)
3. Make sure it's not too bright
4. Make sure the background isn't distracting
5. If you're going to add text, don't make the text too small
6. Don't add too much detail (like shadows and stuff)
7. Make sure all the characters are visible (if there's any)
8. Use the sharpen tool if necessary
And that's how you make a good thumbnail
