The most dangerous game was written in 1924. It is the story of a man named Sanger Rainsford. He was on a ship traveling to San Mateo. Then, it ran into a storm. Rainsford fell overboard. He was able to swim to an island. It had a lighthouse but nobody lived there. On the island was a man named General Zaroff. He told him that he was the last of his family and that he had no friends. Zaroff said that they would play a game and that whoever lost would be killed.
