How about this; why not just let people do their permit tests at the age of 15 and a half. That way they get their permit, but still need to wait until they turn 16 so they don't drive without a license
|

You know it's like a win win for everyone. You get your permit, you're more responsible when you start driving, and the government doesn't have to pay for the extra training they would otherwise have to give drivers who don't have licenses yet

Why can't we just let people drive at 15 and a half like other states do?
If they don't have licenses yet, that means they can't drive outside of driving lessons which will make them safer when they get their license

Yeah. I mean it makes sense but also doesn't because there isn't any real evidence saying that driving before you are 16 makes you dangerous.
