3 or 4
My parents taped it and I just found it in my room one day.
I watched it every night until about season 5 or so.

Well, I mean, not that bad.
But yeah, the series definitely goes downhill after season 6 (or is it 7?).

You know how it usually is. It has some funny episodes here and there in every season. Just gotta find them.

"just gotta find them"
but why do you have to watch the bad ones first in order to find the good ones?

Well, you have to be patient. I mean, not every season is good.
And even seasons that are good don't always have great episodes.
Season 2 isn't great, but I like "Blood Feud", "Bart vs. Australia", "Kamp Krusty", and "Itchy & Scratchy: The Movie".

@jason
"well, you have to be patient."
that's like saying "you have to be patient for the best anime shows to come out"
and i'm not exactly a person who can wait that long for something to happen

Well, it's true though. The Simpsons was good until the end of season 5 (maybe even later than that). But after that, the show had to start going downhill due to budget constraints (the show would've ended before season 5 if the producers hadn't received a contract extension), so the show had to make up for those budget constraints by making more episodes in one season to keep the show afloat financially.
So basically, after season 5, the show didn't have as much time to produce great episodes each season (I mean, they had to work hard to maintain financial stability for the show).
