have it be about someone who's depressed and needs help, then make the ending that they get their help, but it is too late and they die. Then have an epilogue where everyone feels sad for them because they died and didn't get help.

but then it wouldn't be a good story if you kill them in the beginning, it'd be boring. then you can't get to the part where the guy is sad. you gotta get there before you kill them
