I hate when people say that
We all know it's bad but you can't do anything about it so why bring it up?
I'm sure we can think of a happier topic that doesn't involve how awful things are.

i like talking about the bad things in life
i mean there are some really great people out there and they deserve to be recognized for what they have done
and if you ask me i think we should bring back the death penalty for rapists and murderers

Well, I guess there is something to be said for discussing the positives that come with the negative as well, but I still think it's best not to focus on it as much as people do.

well, i guess that is true. I've always wanted to talk about the bad things because i like to point out how awful certain things are but i also want people to know that there are some good people out there
but i can understand why other people wouldn't want to talk about it

Yeah, that's fair.
It's just annoying when people say it.
Like "What did you do this summer? Oh, nothing really happened."
Yeah, nothing really happened, but if something did happen, it was probably bad and now I have to think about it.
I would rather not think about it.
