One of our teachers is gone for the rest of the school year because he has cancer.
It's unfortunate that we don't get to see him again until next year, or whenever his contract is up. I'm going to miss him, too.

He's also a great teacher. It was just really nice to have him around the school. He never seemed to be in a bad mood, and if there was ever any issue with the kids (like if they were being disruptive or annoying), he would always take care of it.

This is the second time someone has died in my school this month. The other guy was only 22, so it's not surprising that he died, but he was also a good person, and I still can't believe he's dead. It's hard to wrap my head around.
I never even thought anything could happen like this in my town.

Our school has some type of assembly every Friday, and the teacher who is gone came on today and gave us an update about how he's doing. There weren't that many people there for him, because most of the class are seniors now, but it was still good to hear from him.

He passed away last night. I heard about it on the radio this morning. It's just very unfortunate and sad. He was a nice person, too. I'm not close to him, but you don't have to be friends with someone for them to leave a mark on your life.

He was only 34 years old. This guy was really young compared to what a lot of teachers in our school are.
The thing is, he wasn't sick for a long time, either. I knew him well enough to talk to him in the hallway or say hi whenever I saw him, and he always seemed like a healthy guy.
I don't think anyone really suspected that he had cancer until it was too late. They found out about it earlier in the month when they were doing his physical exam for the school year. They asked him if anything felt off, so he told them about some weird blood spots he'd been finding on his underwear and stuff. They decided to check him out more carefully, and found that he had bladder cancer.
He didn't find out until early last week, though. It progressed quickly from there, and he passed away last night. It's just...unbelievable.
