I'm serious about this.
They made it so no one can find your profile on google anymore and you have to add someone to get their name in search engine.
And they added the groups, which is crap.

Ok, I still don't see why you shouldn't just get more friends if you need them to be there for you, or something. The point of having friends is because you can talk to people, not so that you can search their names on Google. They probably put it there for people who want to send messages, but you can't do that either, because they changed that too.
