It's supposed to be a kids show right?
Well, if it is, then why does it have such violent stuff in it?
Like, why would a child want to see ponies slashing eachother with swords?
Why is it so popular anyways? It seems like something an ODer would watch.
I'm not being mean, just curious.

No, there aren't swords in it. It has a very limited amount of fighting scenes which you can find on youtube. Most of the show consists of friendship and talking, which is what kids' shows should be about.
The only violence is when they use their magic to defend themselves, such as Rainbow Dash using her speed magic or Applejack using her earth magic to trip a griffon.
The show is about friendship, which is why it's so popular, not because people think it's a cute pony show. It's quite deep actually.
