Kagerou Project.
It's a really emotional show, and it's really well written and animated. It's got some pretty dark themes as well.

Action and adventure anime are two different categories though.
For action anime, you can go with
Dragon Ball (all versions)
One Piece
Naruto (just the first season really)
For adventure anime, you could go with
Hunter x Hunter
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

Alright. If you watch Jojo's make sure to watch it in Japanese, and then watch the subbed English version. It's a lot better that way.
