I had to leave my place because of a stupid glitch, so I went and played some Halo 3. (I know, that's so random.) So anyway, after playing for about an hour, I decided to switch the game up a bit. I decided I wanted to play as a Brute. I don't remember if it was my first time playing as one, but I don't think I ever did before.
So anyway, after I spawn in, I see a bunch of other players running around with Brutes. They were all wearing the same armor and had a matching energy sword. (The energy sword is the sword used by the Brute Chieftain.) I see someone running around with the energy sword, but he wasn't a Brute. He had a normal helmet on, and I figured he probably was a Noble or a Spartan. He was running around killing a bunch of players in an open area. One player picked up a Brute energy sword, and they started fighting eachother. The Brute ended up losing, and the player took his sword. After the player killed the last Brute in the server, I thought it would be cool to just grab a weapon from the Brute armor. So, I did.
I started killing all these Brutes, and some Spartans too. One player came up to me, and I decided to ask him what was going on. He told me that there were a bunch of Brutes at the map's terminal, so I went there. I found them, and they were guarding the terminal. One player snuck in the terminal while I was trying to kill the Brutes, and they shut down my weapon and armor. I tried killing them again, but they still shut down the weapon and armor. I went into the terminal, and I found another person that was also a Brute. He said something about "The Master Chief" to me. I didn't know who he was talking about, so I left the terminal.
I left the game, and when I came back, the Spartan that killed the Brute earlier had the Brute energy sword equipped. It seemed as though he was wearing the same armor as the other Brutes. I don't know if this guy was actually a Brute or not, but I've never seen anything like this before. Maybe it was a glitch, but I don't think it was. It seems like someone else could be able to do the same thing, but maybe they just haven't figured out how yet.

Oh, and by the way. This happened in Halo 3's multiplayer.
