I'm going to a memorial service for my grandpa. He passed away on January 10th, and today is the funeral. I have to sit through all of this for about 2 hours. It's gonna be brutal.

It means that everyone is expected to attend his funeral. Even if the person doesn't care about the person who died or never really knew them.

No, actually people will talk about him for a while before he's buried. The priest will read some scripture, a few relatives are going to give speeches, and the pastor will give his final speech. They might play some music too.

If it's just a memorial service and there's no burial then they'll usually have a microphone for anyone who wants to say something. If you really want to you can get up there and say something about him or whatever, but if you don't feel comfortable doing that that's fine. They won't force you to say anything.
