I was driving down the road, and I saw my friend's car parked at the gas station. So I decided to go up and say hello.
As soon as I walked in, I heard the words "Don't touch me."
Now, this is a pretty unusual thing for someone to say in a public place, so I did what anyone would do. I touched them.
This guy jumped out of his skin and yelled "I'm sorry!" He told me that he had been having some financial troubles lately, and he was just stressed out.
He offered to buy me something from the vending machine, but I declined. I just wanted to talk to him for a while.
After we chatted for a bit, he thanked me for listening and went on his way.
I'm glad I took the time to stop and chat with him. It really brightened his day.
