It's funny to see how different it is than the newer episodes. It's actually really good.

i have an old spongebob episode
called "dying for gold"
it was a halloween special and spongebob and patrick had a dream that they were trapped under water and trying to escape, but every time they got close, they would sink again, until they died.
it ended with them both waking up in their beds and being terrified, but spongebob said everything was ok because it was only a dream.
then a little bit later, we saw patrick dead on the floor and spongebob screaming in horror.
it scared me as a child

it's not even funny or good, the writing and humour has gone downhill and the show has become more focused on being weird than being entertaining.
the animation is still good though.

if you want to watch old spongebob episodes i recommend watching "shiver me timbers"
i remember it being the scariest episode i watched as a child
it was the first time i saw a pirate character in a childrens cartoon, and it scared me because i thought that the pirates would come to my house and kill me and steal my stuff.

do you know what i find funny?
people who make these threads to brag about how they are watching an old episode of a show.
it makes them look like a nerd because they need to tell everyone that they are watching something that everyone else has watched too.
