I'm not talking about when someone says, "You guys are cool." I'm talking about when they say, "You're so fat."
It just makes no sense. If you have to use the word "you," just use it singularly.

well, there are a few things that can be used singularly or plurally.
there is no difference between saying you is fat or you are fat.
|

Yes, but saying, "You are fat" makes more sense than saying "You're so fat."

i think using "you're" and "are" together would make it seem like you are insulting the person. i would never insult someone by saying they were fat.

It depends on who you're talking about. If you say that to a group of people, it wouldn't sound right if you said, "You guys are fat." It should be singular.
