...I have to spend more than $100 on a laptop in order for it to have Windows 8.1 Pro pre-installed.

But I don't need Windows 8.1 Pro, but if I get a cheap Dell with Windows 8.1 Home, I have to get Office 2013 Pro Plus...

So I will probably go with Ubuntu or another Linux distro, since I have the money and the time to waste on trying to find the best one.
