I was at my school's band concert, and it was the end of the band concert. As we were about to leave, a band director had something to tell us.
He said, "We are going outside in 5 minutes to clean up the trash."
"YAY! FREE SNACKS!"
The band directors looked at each other and shook their heads in disappointment.
We waited for 5 minutes to get our trash bags. When it was time to go out, the directors told us to stay where we were because there was rain coming. So we stayed in our seats while the band directors got their coats on and left.
Then, suddenly, the lights went off and everyone started screaming, running, and crying.
"OH NO!" I thought. "WHAT IS HAPPENING?"
There was this one girl sitting next to me, who was crying her eyes out, saying that she had to pee so bad. So I told her to pee on the floor (because there was no toilet anywhere) and then I ran off.
I was in the middle of running down the hallway when I saw this giant puddle in front of me. I almost tripped on it. I fell over and landed on my elbows and knees.
There were several kids in my grade in the hallway too, but none of them helped me. They just stood there, staring at me.
I was trying to crawl towards the auditorium doors. The girl who peed on the floor tried to pull me up, but it hurt. She couldn't get me up.
So I just let myself cry a little bit and waited until someone came to help me.
A guy named J came over to me and pulled me up. He told me to follow him. Then he carried me all the way back to my seat. Everyone in the concert hall was watching him. Everyone was talking about how he rescued me.
J sat me back in my chair and walked away. I thanked him for carrying me back, and he said "You're welcome" and left.
We stayed there for another 10 minutes because we couldn't leave yet.
When it was finally time to leave the auditorium, everyone was still talking about how J carried me to my seat.
That was the day I almost died.
