And it's like I can't find a single article that isn't biased one way or another.
All of them are either "we won and we were all awesome" or "the Brits were so oppressive and the colonists deserved to be free".

Yeah, I guess that's technically what it was about. But the British weren't the only ones who did taxes.

there is an entire category of history that is dedicated to trying to understand why the american revolution happened
the most popular explanation is that it had something to do with the fact that the british empire was a dictatorship and america was a democracy
