I'm just making this out of curiosity, so don't flame me for a stupid question.
How did the Big Bang happen? Was it like a giant explosion that just happened and everything was created?

Actually the Big Bang theory suggests that our universe was once the size of a grape (or something small) and then it expanded exponentially.
It also suggests that there are parallel universes that can either be in contact with us or not.

The Big Bang theory was just a name, though. It is really inaccurate when you look at the science behind it.

And another thing, if the universe creates itself then everything else must create themselves and it would go on for ever and nothing would have ever been created.
