He called me an "idiot" when I asked him to stop singing a song in his room, and said I am stupid.
I told him to go screw himself, but he just laughed at me. He's only 10.

Oh, well you'll have to make him some more convincing punishment, like taking away his toys or something like that

I guess I could take away his DS for a few hours. But I'm pretty sure he doesn't care.

That's all you can really do then, though, unless you're willing to spank him which might be a bit excessive. The problem is that the only thing you can really do is take away things he cares about, and since he doesn't care about those things, he'll just ignore them

Well, I do have another idea.
He likes to play Roblox sometimes, so I could take away his account. That would probably make him angry.

Yeah, but if he doesn't care about anything you take away, then he won't care about that either. He'll probably just find some other game to play. You'll have to do a lot more than that to stop him

I don't know, maybe give him something to do after school every day? Like homework or chores or something like that

I don't know then, it depends on what his interests are and how you can take those away and replace them with something better

He plays baseball and basketball. That's pretty much all he does.
And there isn't really much else that I can think of that he actually likes doing.

Well, the problem is that he doesn't have many interests so you can't take them away without replacing them. The only thing you can really do is make him do some kind of chore or homework after school so he has less free time

If I do give him a lot of chores, though, he'll just stop singing when he's doing his chores, which is not what I want him to do. I want him to stop singing in his room.

Yeah, well, unfortunately your options aren't great here. If he doesn't care about anything you take away from him then he's going to keep on singing

It's not like he has any other choice but to be mad about it. You're taking away one of his favorite things to do so yeah, he's pretty much going to be mad about it. That's not really a big problem though, the real problem is figuring out how to stop him from singing in the first place
