My favourite Pokemon is pikachu. I have a theory why people like Pikachu so much.
Pikachu has 3 things:
1. It's cute.
2. It's yellow.
3. It's funny.
All those three things combined makes Pikachu popular

i also have a theory on why people like it so much
it's a yellow rodent with a lightning bolt on its head that can fire electricity out of its mouth and it's a really cute character that speaks in little squeaks
but honestly, the reason i like it so much is probably just because it's a really good starter pokemon

pikachu is a great starter because it's an electric type, which means you can beat the first gym leader without needing to catch a new pokemon
and then later on in the game you get thunderbolt and thundershock, two really good moves that let you easily defeat the second and third gyms
charmander and squirtle, however, need to evolve into their final evolution (charmeleon and warturtle) before you get access to a move that lets you win the second gym
